March 2004

Alright, alright.  We know it's really late but we have good reason.  We just aren't going to say what that reason is.

The Committee is proud to present some great vintage pictures from the Virginia State Police. Their cars have  long been popular among copcar hobbyists due to their unique appearance and traditionalism.  These photos were taken by Captain H. Gregory of VSP during his nearly 40 years with the agency.

When Captain Gregory joined the VSP in 1966, the agency's new cars were the Two-door 1966 Ford

Captain Gregory's 1968 Plymouth, yet another two-door.  VSP was known for ordering the two door models.

VSP is also known for its use of the mini Beacon Ray light.  1973 Plymouth Fury

This 1974 Plymouth Fury was also driven by Captain Gregory in his early years of his career.

This 79-80 Ford LTD sported the agency's new, larger beacon

And of course, the mid 80s brought the M-body Plymouth Gran Fury to the VSP.

This 1967 Mack  armored vehicle was used by the VSP up unitl the year 2000.

Thanks to Captain Gregory for going through all his old files and finding these.
