On limited
budgets and needing something for part time use, agencies around the
country press hand-me-downs into service to use for everything from
search and rescue to dog trucks. They may not be police packages when
they get 'em but they sure are once they get done with 'em.

Brunswick, Ohio put a navy
blue paint job on this ambulance, making it into a not-so-covert SWAT
unit.

Conneaut, Ohio uses this
E-350 former ambulance as a Special Operations Unit.

The dog catcher in Hyde
Park, NY, drives around in this old Dodge military ambulance.

And in Springfield, VT,
they camouflage their SWAT truck by hiding it in a forest.
Unfortunately, the reflective graphics are a dead giveaway.

Ulster County, NY.
No telling what they use this one for.

Pickin' your toes in
Poughkeepsie is no laughing matter for this Emergency Services Unit.

Warwick Twon, NY, Police
have a a pair of Search and Rescue units, this one a Mobile Command
Center and doubling as a Crime Scene Unit
