July 2001
With only
moments to spare in July, copcar dot com finally got the Committee off
their lazy, worthless, arrogant butts and was able to pull off the July
copcar of the month. With only six hours remaining in July, copcar
dot com fell upon the scoop of the Century.
Turns out, LAPD
has been secretly testing a new car that will blow the lid off of the
police car industry. Move over Crown Vic, because LAPD says that
the top-secret smartPod out performs even the 69 Polara.
Risking life
and limb, members of the Committee snuck in and captured these shots
just for the copcar fans.
copcar
dot com presents: LAPD
smartPods

This
smartPod is equipped for routine patrol work with just a mini-vector
bar. LAPD was testing out those beetles but they were hogwash.
This baby can take corners at 158 MPH without losing traction.
Just the perfect vehicle for both freeway and alleyway.

Remember
the disbanded CRASH teams following the Rampart scandal? Well,
LAPD has re-formed and renamed the unit to "Politie" to give
it that "European" flavor. Of course, the CRASH guys
still like to refer to themselves as CRASH but in the smartPod, it's
more like the sound of a tin can being smooshed on the pavement.

Here's
another look at a CRASH gang unit... err, we mean "Politie
Gang Unit". Actually, the "New" LAPD bosses
had mandated that the light bar on CRASH units contain the word
"POLITE" in order to ease tensions and develop community
relations. But the service center ended up playing a cruel joke
instead.
