October
2002
Better late than never, we bring you
October. Why were we so late? Let's just say there was some
kind of flap over September involving detention and Chinese water
torture. But free at last, The Committee was finally able to get
back to work. So what did they do? They came up with
classified photographs from the September 2002 testing at the Michigan
State Police track.

| Mercury gets into the
swing of things on the copcar market by adding the Marauder to
the mix, complete with optional pre-crash smoke. |

| Chevy plays it big
this year with three entries to the testing: Here the
Pursuit Tahoe winds its way through the curves backwards,
proving Chevy's claim of an unrestricted 360 view. |

| The Chevy Impala.
What can we say that hasn't already been said? |

| And Chevy's (GM)
other entry, the Hummer. At first, it looked like the
Hummer beat everything else on the track until some guy named
Zapruder showed his film to the MSP. Just out of our
camera range, the Hummer was seen coming out of the woods,
having lopped off 5 miles its run. Shockingly, the Ford
Crown Vic never made it back to the finish line. Later its
mud-stained body was found in a shallow grave in the woods
with knobby tire marks all over it. |

| And Dodge was there
too, showing off its Intrepid. We're assuming this was the
rear-wheel version since the back tires were turning as fast as
the front. |
| So, anyway, there was
this group of copcar hobbyists who decided to show up at the
tests and try a little intimidation of the entrants. They
brought their restored cars out to give the automakers something
to think about in the future. Ahhhh... when copcars were
copcars! |
